The book is divided into three parts: the first includes detailed descriptions of the violin makers lives; the second introduces the instruments of the period and presents over 50 instruments individually with detailed descriptions and photos; the final part contains several historical documents of interest to the avid music historian -including inventories of many of the violin maker s shops.
